Career Exploration

Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians,

Earlier this year I was able to meet with a group of parents and guardians from Everest during a zoom meeting to explain a program meant to motivate and educate students about careers.

We call this program, Career Exploration. Many of our donors who helped us build the new building for Everest Value School are now giving back to our community (value 5) by hosting career exploration events at their business.

Mrs. Linda Gunn, president of the advertising firm Gunn-Jerkens Communications in Long Beach, invited our students to her company and taught them how to create a "brand" of athletic shoes.
At the end of the day, our students presented the brand they created with the team from GunnJerkens. https://gunnjerkens.com

Dr. Pearl Grimes, a world famous dermatologist here in Los Angeles, hosted a career exploration event at her medical offices and research lab. She gave the students a tour and then spoke to them about how to follow the road to success. https://pearlgrimesmd.com

Lincoln Stone, a law partner at Stone, Grzegorek, and Gonzalez, invited our students to visit his office in downtown Los Angeles.  He asked the students to pre-read some lawsuits and our students discussed the facts of the cases with his attorneys.  Now our students have a great understanding of careers in a law firm. https://www.sggimmigration.com

I am grateful for our friends, donors and supports for creating these interactive experiences for our students.  I am also grateful for the assistance of Dr. Moreno and Mr. Gaines  for working with me to help our students during these events.

Stay tuned for more career exploration events this spring.  www.valueschool.com  click stories
