We invited three Central City Value High School alumna from the class of 2018 – Ximena Avalos, Melissa Rivas, and Lupe Perez – to speak with our current Value Schools' students. These impressive alumna graduated in 2022 from UC Berkeley, Cal State Los Angeles, and Cal State Long Beach respectively. They shared their experiences through high school, university, and their current career trajectory. Their encouragement inspired our current students to make the most of the opportunities that Value Schools has to offer.

Our gratitude goes to Ximena, Melissa, and Lupe for their commitment to give back to our current students. They are true ambassadors of our values, and we are proud of their achievements.

After graduating college, Ximena is now working as a legal assistant in Los Angeles, Melissa is now working at the YMCA in Los Angeles, and Lupe is working as an English Language Development aide at University Prep Value High School.

We would like to express our gratitude to Ms. Navarro, University Prep Value Dean of Students, Erika Martinez-Scott, Value Schools Board Member, and Sarah Rothenberg, longtime Value Schools' supporter, for attending and speaking with our students. Their efforts over the years have created a safe, nurturing environment where our students flourish.
