Long-time Value Schools’ supporter Dr. Pearl Grimes provided an exceptional Career Exploration event at her Wilshire Boulevard medical office this week.

For nearly fifteen years, Dr. Pearl Grimes has supported our students by providing free dermatological care and hosting classes on table etiquette. From Dr. Grimes' perspective the experience is not only about having a good time. It provides training for students to help level the playing field as they think about college and work.

Students were thrilled when Catherine Liang, named Miss California 2022, visited our campuses. Complete with crown and sash, one of our youngest students exclaimed, "I want to hug the princess!"

It is hard to believe but Value Schools has been educating students for over twenty years. Dr. Jerome Porath, our founder, opened Downtown Value School in 2002. Central City Value High School opened in the fall of 2003 with 88 ninth grade students. And, of course, our story continued as we opened Everest Value School in 2014 and University Prep Value High School in 2015.

The Value Schools Foundation works with leaders throughout our community to find new and exciting ways for donors and friends to make a lasting difference in the lives of our students – by sharing their professional insight and talent with young people eager to learn.

Everest will be hosting one of it's first FREE Zumba class with our Dean of Students, Dr. Moreno. We invite all Everest families who are interested to join our school community in promoting their physical health. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle, work out clothes and lots of energy! It's that time of year again! We are very excited to invite all Everest families to our Open House this Friday from 4:00 - 5:30PM. Please take this opportunity to get to know your teachers and our school building. We highly encourage all parents to attend this event.

This is also a great chance to provide interested parents a peek as to what Everest has to offer. Please feel free to invite neighbors or family members that may be interested in joining our school. We look forward to seeing you soon!

This year, Everest is providing incoming families the opportunity to visit our campus and tour the facilities. We are excited to add more members to the Everest family! Please call our office to book an appointment or fill out an appointment form (link below). Tours will be available every Saturday until further notice. Tour times are between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. We look forward to providing you a glimpse of our new school building that has been 8 years in the making!

One of the exciting new ways to give back to our community is by creating a career exploration day at your business.  We are asking our friends to create an interactive half- or full-day experience where students learn and explore the careers inside your business or organization.

The Value Schools Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Loreen Riley as the new President and CEO of Value Schools, effective July 1, 2022. Ms. Riley’s appointment is a clear reflection of the Board’s confidence in her ability to lead Value Schools to even greater success in the future.
