The Value Schools Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Loreen Riley as the new President and CEO of Value Schools, effective July 1, 2022. Ms. Riley’s appointment is a clear reflection of the Board’s confidence in her ability to lead Value Schools to even greater success in the future.

The doors of Everest Value School recently opened for students as we celebrated the long-awaited ribbon cutting on Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Our keynote speaker Monica Garcia, Board Member for LA Unified School District 2, inspired us during the ceremony.

Everest Value School opened its doors at the new campus on Monday, May 23, 2022!

During the planning phase for the new Everest Value School building, we asked our students to dream about the perfect school: What would they want? We received many ideas, most of which have been incorporated at the school site.

Nestled in the San Bernardino National Forest, 100 miles from downtown Los Angeles, sits the Idyllwild Arts Academy whose mission is to change lives through the transformative power of art.

With the return of “normal conditions,” the Back East Scholars Trip (BEST), created and supported by Grant Cambridge, will resume.

Created by Grant Cambridge, Chair of our School Board and Foundation Board, Base Camp provides students from our high schools the opportunity to hike local mountains during spring and summer, and receive mentorship along the way. This program is meant to inspire students to develop their potential.

Principal Chris Medinger introduced the LEGO STEAM program at Everest Value to give students a creative outlet to design structures and build a LEGO City.

We are fortunate to have leaders from Los Angeles who volunteer their time and treasure to serve on our Value Schools Board of Directors and Foundation Board. Over the last few months we have interviewed each member of both boards to capture their story. We are creating plaques for each member to display at our schools to celebrate their generosity and inspire others to practice our values.

Linda Gunn, President of Gunn-Jerkens Communications and Marketing, was instrumental with our launch of the We Climb capital campaign. Linda toured University Prep Value during its second year when it was located on the 4th floor of an office building on Wilshire Blvd. in downtown Los Angeles. She was immediately impressed with our students and the mission of Value Schools. She said, “How can I help?”
